INGREDIENTS: 6 T melted, unsalted butter 4 1 inch slices of day-old bread, with a pocket cut in each 3 ripe bananas, cut into ¼ inch slices 1 cup heavy cream ½ cup milk 6 eggs ¾ t cinnamon ¾ t nutmeg 1½ t vanilla extract cinnamon for sprinkling warm maple syrup for serving DIRECTIONS: · Pre-heat oven to 350. · Cut bread pieces to fit into a 9 x 12 baking pan and set aside. · Mix soaking mixture in a bowl. · Pour butter into pan. · Stuff bread with banana slices. · Soak slices in liquid mixture and place into pan. · Pour any remaining liquid over the bread. · Sprinkle cinnamon liberally on top. · Bake for 30 minutes, until the top is crusty. · Serve with warm maple syrup. |
